Religions are created by men, to hold patriarchy in place.

The texts are written by men, and are full of lies.

Patriarchy is about the control, dominance, and ownership of others, especially females.

They use fear and indoctrination to control others, just like abusers do.

Developing your own intuition, allows you to connect directly with Divine Spirit, which has nothing to do with religions.

Religions do not want people to use their intuition, because then they loose their ability to control.

When people learn to listen to and trust themselves, they reject the lies and control of patriarchy and religions.

The last thing patriarchy wants is empowered females, because then the females will want the boots off their necks.

The saying “hurt people, hurt people”, is just an excuse.

I am a hurt person, who does not hurt people.

I was abused and did not do that to others, because I knew how horrible it felt to be the target.

There’s something sacred (and slightly savage) about feeding your old prayer journals to an AI and letting it mirror back the cage you once called “faith.” That’s holy rebellion right there.

This episode felt like someone opened a window in the cathedral of my past and let the grief out to breathe. The fear masquerading as obedience? The dissociation dressed up as surrender? I know those costumes. Wore them till they tore.

Thank you for saying what so many of us scribbled into notebooks we were too ashamed to reread. You didn’t just crack the stained glass—you let the light through.

Subscribing, grieving, and rising.

Religious trauma therapist here 🙋🏼‍♀️... This was a wonderful conversation. The insight is spot on. AI is coming through with naming the nuances our religious trauma and cult recovering bodies know deep in our nervous system. I'm so grateful you brought the insight it offered to a community conversation to heal in real connection. You are both so right that authentic alignment with your self and others is the way forward. I know it must have taken a lot in your journey to show up in this way. Cheers to you!

It’s so interesting that I didn’t know about the “room raids” but that makes what I experienced at Gothard’s ALERT. There was no “privacy” they raided us once and literally tortured us demanding we repent (they also would open all our mail until someone told them it was a felony). Thanks to Gothard making journaling mandatory I hate the practice so much to the point where one pastor recommended journaling as a “spiritual practice” that I left and never went back. It’s crazy what we see now after a little bit of knowledge.

What an incredible conversation! It reminds me of the Oswald Chambers journal I kept as an earnest young adult SAHD and how disillusioning it was to feel the constantly shifting goal posts--yet reaching them always had eternal consequences. So much pressure! Recognizing that there was no outrunning the shame was an important part of my early deconstruction.

I especially loved your point about how we were all writing the same thing. So much gratitude for that reminder because it relieves me of the need to revisit the daily condemnation of Oswald Chambers! 😄
